Description

Ideal Standard flush valve won't seal properly and is constantly passing water into the toilet pan but there is no sign of an inlet valve failure, it could very well be that the base sealing washer needs to be changed. The new seal is larger than the old one which will have worn away over time and use which is the cause for the leak that you now have and the reason for the replacement seal being necessary.

When it comes to design and performance, Ideal Standards know that one can’t flourish without the other. We also recommend washing your valve in warm water to ensure any limescale or grit which could be causing an issue is eliminated. Dead easy to replace, instantly stopped toilet constantly self flushing slightly, didnt even need any tools that's how easy it was to replace, saved me a small sum of money ( plumbers labour) watched you tube for self tutorial, job done in 2 minutes. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Whatever problem you may have, Ideal Standards will have a solution for you that will consider every element.

Over time as the flush valve is opened and closed, small imperfections tend to occur in the surface of the rubber washer causing the washer to be warped and not providing an adequate seal. If you have water running into the toilet pan continuously and are not sure if you need to purchase a spare part / replace the flush valve or inlet/fill valve you can try this simple test to determine.TEST: If you turn the water off (from the stop cock bringing water into the house OR an isolating valve on the cistern), leave it for up to an hour, does the cistern empty? You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. This replacement seal is built to suit the SV range of valves fitted to many Armitage Shanks and Ideal Standard WC Toilet cisterns. Ideal Standard have only ever manufactured one type of seal and clip, so if you have a seal and clip like this, then this listing will be the replacement you require. Easy to fit once you find out how to access the seal in the type of flush mechanism you have without damaging the existing set up.

The Ideal Standard dual flush valve seal and clip (SV01967) is a genuine, brand new Ideal Standard product, covered by a minimum 1 year Ideal Standard manufacturer's guarantee. This seal is a replacement for the worn seal in the toilet cistern which is allowing the water to run into the toilet between flushes. With the Armitage Shanks SV flush valve range there is no need to remove the entire cistern to service or replace the valve.

The flush valve in my toilet wasn’t making a proper seal so water from the cistern was constantly running into the pan. Many make the mistake of purchasing a full replacement flush valve at the first sign of any issue, replacing just this washer may save you a lot time and money in the long-term. I cut off the old ring using a fine junior hacksaw because I couldn't easily prise out the clip tangs with a screwdriver. Do not be concerned if you purchase this new item and it arrives and you think it is bigger than the old. NOTE: Replacing the diaphragm may not always resolve your problem as the fault could be with the valve itself but it is a cheap way to try and resolve and is usually successful. It worked perfectly and it was good to have a new securing ring provided although removing the old ring was harder than expected. our operatives are all experienced within the industry and are more than happy to help with any questions. If your Ideal Standard flush valve won't seal properly and is constantly passing water into the toilet pan but there is no sign of an inlet valve failure, it could very well be that the base sealing washer needs to be changed.
